New rock climbing site set up by NMIA-NNMGA 2010.

 

NMIA and NNMGA jointly set up the rock climbing site in Chauri kharka-1 VDC, Monjo, Solukhumbu, near Sagarmatha National Park entrance Check post.


Involvements for the project are: lead by NMIA Instructors Tendi Sherpa, Pasang Tenzing Sherpa & supported by Pasang Tendi Sherpa (Aspirant). From 18th June 2010 to 31 June 2010.


During these period 6 different climbing routes has been successfully completed, including one multi pitch climbing.

New rock climbing site set up by NMIA.

 

NMIA set up new rock climbing route in Hattiban, Kritipur, the route is set up lead by Tendi Sherpa (NMIA INSTRUCTOR) and assist Aspirants: Pasang Wangchu Sherpa, Phura Geljen Sherpa, Jangbu Sherpa, Pemba Wangchu Sherpa, Dawa Finjo Bhote from: 5th and 6th July 2010.

 

 

 

High Altitude Introductory Climbing Course 2010.


With the joint cooperation of Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (mountain academy Nepal), NMIA Instructors conducted High Altitude Introductory Climbing Course - 2010 in Kathmandu and Langtang Region from: June 9-11, in Kathmandu and 18th July to 2nd June in Langtang region.

 

The course is design for Civil Servant Everest Expedition Campaign - 2011

Total number of participants are 20.

Whitewater rescue technician training (WRT) 2010 (for the river professional) Rescue 3 international.

 

Mountain Academy Nepal (under the ministry of tourism) conducted first ever WRT training for the NMIA Instructors with the joint cooperation of Initiative outdoor.

 

The training is held in Bhote Koshi river, date from: 7th to 9th June 2010.

 

Mr. Chandra Ale the executive director of Initiative outdoor provide a instruction and theoretical lesson during the course.

3rd International Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) Day 2010 celebrated and also NMIA distributed the certificate of High Mountain Rescue Training 2010

 

On the occasion of 3rd International Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) day 2010, NMIA distributed the certificate of High Mountain Rescue Training 2010 to all the participants.


The certificate is distributed by Hon. Ministry of Tourism Mr. Sharad Singh Bhandari.

 

Nepal observed third Sagarmatha (Mt Everest) Day by organizing a series of programs in Kathmandu on 29 May.

 

 

The celebration began with a colorful procession in the morning. Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation along with Nepal Mountaineering Instructors Association, Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal, Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Mountaineering Association and a number of travel trade organizations organized the procession. Everest summiteers, government officials, tourism industry leaders, travel trade entrepreneurs, students and general public participated in the rally that began from the premises of Nepal Tourism Board and passed through Basantapur before ending in Thamel. 20th time Everest Summiteer Apa Sherpa also participated in the rally. Likewise, the government designated Everest summiteers as goodwill ambassadors to promote Nepal Tourism Year 2011. They were handed the responsibility of development, promotion and marketing of NTY 2011 in the national and international forum during a ceremony.

 

5th Annual - High Mountain Rescue Training 2010

 

NMIA successfully conducted High Mountain Rescue Training 2010 in Langtang Region from: 13th March to 27th March 2010.

The training is supported by Embassy of French Republic, Kathmandu, Yves Pollet Villard Foundation of France(YPVF), Nepal Mountaineering Association(NMA) and IFREMMONT of France. Number of trainees are 12 for the training and involvement of 3 Nepali Instructors: Pasang Tenzing Sherpa (co-ordinater) Pemba Gylze Sherpa and Lhakpa Norbu Sherpa with the co-operation received from IFREMMONT Dr. Guy Duperrex of France.

 

3rd Aspirant Guide Course 2009/10

 

NMIA and Yves Pollet Villard Foundation of France (YPVF) supported NNMGA for the continuously 3rd Aspirant Guide Course 2009/10 held in Kathmandu, Dolakha and Rolwaling Region from 19th Dec 2009 to 6th Feb 2010.

 

 

Since the beginning of the Aspirant Guide Course in Nepal from 2007 NMIA/YPVF has been the soul Association for the formation of mountain guides in Nepal by providing practical and theoretical components of teaching required for the Aspirant Candidate and Aspirant Guides, financial support, providing technical mountaineering equipments and official cooperation, we wish all the best to our members for the final IFMGA certification in 2011 and future formation of mountain guides in Nepal.
