Must hold certification from the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA) and maintain active membership with the Nepal Mountaineering Instructors Association (NMIA).
Must have a CTEVT Level 4 Mountain Guide certification.
All professional NMIA members must pay an annual membership fee of NPR 7,000 to maintain active status and access member benefits.
Members are eligible to apply for NMIA instructor-level training courses and Mountain Guide programs, which provide a structured pathway to internationally recognized certifications aligned with global mountaineering standards.
Candidates must successfully complete a rigorous three-day instructors’ examination, supervised by senior NMIA instructors. The evaluation assesses:
