Often called the “Oscar of Mountaineering Achievement,” the Golden Ice Axe Award ceremony was held in France in mid-April 2009. NMIA received the prestigious “Adventure Award” for its consistent involvement in mountain search and rescue operations since its establishment in 2002. This recognition highlights NMIA’s dedication to safety and rescue, in addition to its training programs.
