Eligibility and Requirements for Becoming an NMIA Instructor

To become an NMIA Instructor, candidates must meet stringent criteria to ensure they uphold the highest standards of professionalism and expertise in mountaineering:

  • Certification Requirements:
    • Must possess a Certified Diploma in Mountain Guiding from the Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA).
    • Must hold certification from the International Federation of Mountain Guides Associations (IFMGA) and maintain active membership with the Nepal Mountaineering Instructors Association (NMIA).

    • Must have a CTEVT Level 4 Mountain Guide certification.

  • General Members:
    • All professional NMIA members must pay an annual membership fee of NPR 7,000 to maintain active status and access member benefits.

  • Course Access:
    • Members are eligible to apply for NMIA instructor-level training courses and Mountain Guide programs, which provide a structured pathway to internationally recognized certifications aligned with global mountaineering standards.

  • Instructors’ Examination:
